Ask the experts: Andrew Boulton and Gyles Lingwood

Hello Fixers!

Nick and I are going back to university next Wednesday.

But this time, for some strange, insane reason we’re not going back as students.

We’re the teachers.

Aaarrghh.

(Though to be fair, my nanna would be proud.)

As part of our quest to help all copywriters, we’ll be doing copy reviews with the creative advertising students at the University of Lincoln, which should be a lot of fun.

But of course, as well as trying our hand at some teaching, we’ll be interviewing two real teachers on the creative advertising course: Mr Andrew Boulton and Mr Gyles Lingwood.

Apart from teaching copy, both Andrew and Gyles are published authors, having written some very well-known books on copy.

Andrew’s Copywriting Is… is a great book that looks at copy from a whole different angle. And Gyles’s Read Me has become an industry standard, found in most ad agencies around the country. Plus he’s just produced the third edition of Mark Shaw’s Copywriting, which is the go-to text on copywriting in most teaching environments (and the new edition happens to feature a piece by me).

As always, as members of The Fix Accelerator…you get to have your specific questions asked directly. So, if you have any for Andrew or Gyles…pop them in the comments below and we’ll raise them during our chat.

Best,
Glenn
