Industry Insight #20: Grant Perry on writing advert copy for Google, Facebook and Instagram

We’d never met, yet somehow, many years ago, Grant Perry and I ended up spending the night together in a French chateau.

Of course, it wasn’t as sexy as it sounds. In those days we had to double up at Agora retreats and it meant sharing rooms. Grant got stuck with me.

I’d like to say it was a memorable night, but really, all I remember is getting too drunk, snoring a lot, and then having to apologise the next day to a tired Grant, while we sat listening to various people from the Agora world talk about publishing.

That‘s my Grant Perry story. Nick opens this episode with his own.

We both have Grant Perry stories because we both spent a lot of time with him learning about writing for platforms like Google and Facebook and dealing with algorithms and testing and things that we copywriters get a bit ‘meh’ with.

He’s a top man and really knows his stuff, having fought on the frontline of social media and Internet marketing for decades.
