Industry Insight #21: Martin Sayers on email copy, finding clients and embracing direct response

During our conversation I describe Martin as “old-school” and somehow it felt like a bit of an insult. It wasn’t meant to be. Far from it.

In fact, it’s a compliment. A big one. I realised—eventually—I meant it because Martin is a follower of direct response principles, like Nick and me.

We talk about that, and about how he got into copywriting and became a respected voice in the industry. And we talk about getting (and keeping) clients, as well as reviewing a piece of email copy sent in by a follower of The Fix.
