“I needed some money so I thought I’d go on the Weakest Link.”

As far as money-making ideas go, it’s one of the most insane I’ve ever heard.

But, once upon a time, this was the plan Lucy hatched, applying for the show — and various others — to try and raise a bit of cash.

The funny thing is…

She won.

Still, as a scalable business model…

It wasn’t so successful.

The good news is her career in copywriting has been more so.

Having written for the likes of Gymbox, Mojo, McDonalds, Bumble, and Shelter, Lucy now travels the world as a freelancer living a very enviable writer’s life.

It was a pleasure to speak to her (while she’s currently in Portugal) about her career and about how she got where she is today.

It was a really nice chat and if you’re still trying to find your feet as a freelancer, I think you’ll find it extremely reassuring.
