The Fix #104: Heather Murray on why you shouldn’t be overwhelmed by AI and where to start if you are

A lot of copywriters will hear the dread letters “AI” and think ugh.

Maybe you’re one of them.

You see all this talk of it… all the scaremongering… all the bandwagon jumpers… the AI bros (a close cousin of the copy bro)… and all the technical terms and acronyms and think…

No – not for me.

And hey, we get it.

Personally, as someone who’s been through one too many iterations of social media (I’m old enough to remember Friendster, let alone Myspace), this whole AI “revolution” can feel a bit like another step on the path to technological overwhelm.

It’s one of the reasons we chose to make it the theme of this year’s Fix Fest — so that we can bring you some sensible insight into what AI really means for the copywriting industry and for you as a copywriter.

As part of that, before the event itself, I wanted to follow up on our chats with John Forde and Natalie Moores by speaking with another of the folks who’ll be joining us on the day: the brilliant Heather Murray.

As you’ll learn, Heather is NOT a “techie” person, but she’s embracing AI in a big way and believes even the least techie person in the world can still get a lot out of it.

It’s a great introduction to Heather and, if you’re anything like me, you’ll be excited to see her share more on the subject at Fix Fest 2.

Indeed, if you haven’t got your ticket yet: get one here.

Best,
Glenn
